Autisma
About
Our mission is to help women and non-binary individuals on the autism spectrum receive equal representation, diagnosis, and support throughout their lives and to create an inclusive world where girls and women with Autism are no longer unseen and underrepresented in the Autism community.

Women and non-binary individuals on the autism spectrum, especially those of color, often go incredibly undiagnosed. This is primarily because the only representation we see of Autism in everything from the media to research is targeted towards boys, leaving many girls and women underrepresented. Long-term, this leads to fewer women understanding their mental health and being able to seek the diagnosis and aid they need to live a happy life. Autisma strives to change the current face of autism, sharing the stories of Autistic women and non-binary individuals and providing support and assistance such as university scholarships and grants for diagnosis and support.

Autism doesn’t necessarily present the same way in boys as it does in girls, but that doesn’t make it any less real
